Gonorrhoea is a bacterial STI that can cause discharge and burning urination. It can be detected 2 weeks after exposure with a urine test or swab. Current UK guidance treats it with a single ceftriaxone injection, followed by a test of cure 2 weeks after treatment because antibiotic resistance is increasing.
